- Qualifications (Warden): B.A/B.Sc from any recognized University.
- Qualifications (Head Cook / Assistant Cook): Good cooking experience and ability to use LPG.
- Qualifications (Chowkidar-cum-Sweeper): Must have passed HSC Examination (10th Pass).
- Essential qualifications: The preference shall be given to the local candidate preferably from the block area, then adjacent block, then the district.
- Desirable: For cooks, being trained in cookery is preferred and given weightage. For Warden, at least 2 years experience in hostel management is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in hostel management for Warden (desirable), and cooking experience for cook roles.

- Head Cook: 30 to 40 years.
- Assistant Cook: 21 to 32 years.
- Chowkidar-cum-Sweeper: 21 to 32 years.
